Objective: Support understanding of concerns of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Intersex, Queer +(LGBTIQ+) community and how they impact on health professional interactions
Background: 9-10% of the population identifies as LGBTIQ including many people living with Parkinson’s. Past experiances and ongoing criminalisatoin may create fear or relcuatince ot share information with clinicians which may impact upon care and treatment planning.
Method: Responding to community and health care professional concerns a suite of online learning activites was developed using a co design approach. Three learning activities have been developed 1) tp support Health Care professionals to better understand past experiacnes of members of hte LGBTIQ community and ways they can develop inclusive practice, 2) For comunity to understand challenges LGBTIQ commuinty members may have encoutered and 3) for members of the LGBTIQ community to improve confidence and to build better self protections.
Results: The product has been launched and evaluation data is currently being collected.
Conclusion: The three learning opporunites have been well recieved following inital launch. evaluation is currently underway with results to be published when available
