Location: Exhibit Hall located in Hall B, Level 2

Objective: Providing online counselling service to Movement Disorder patients.

Background: This paper will deal with online counselling delivered to Movement Disorder callers. Helpline Mauritius (www.helplinemauritius.org) is an online counselling service operated by Halley Movement. This Civil Society Organisation, www.halleymovement.org, which has the ECOSOC status runs various community based programs in Mauritius and in SADC-Africa region. Counsellors respond to queries via chat, email and telephone.

Methods: The abstract will highlight the following:

• E-Counselling structure operated by CSO (Civil Society Organisation) in Mauritius. • CSO complementing local government in alleviating MD difficulties

• Topics dealt by this free E-Counselling service(Helpline Mauritius)

• The extent of Movement disorders coverage by Helpline Mauritius Service

• Data pertaining to the status, categories of such callers and nature of responses

• Referral organised and monitored by the CSO, Halley Movement

• The way forward for a better service in countries like Mauritius.
