Levels of change in interleukin-6 levels according to clinical forms of Parkinson’s disease in patients with and without Covid-19

B. Muminov, R. Matmurodov (Tashkent, Uzbekistan)

Meeting: 2024 International Congress

Abstract Number: 1765

Keywords: Immunoglobulins, Parkinsonism, Tremors: Clinical features

Category: Parkinson's Disease: Neurophysiology

Objective: Comparison of serum IL-6 levels in clinical forms Parkinson’s disease (PD) patients with and without Сovid-19.

Background: Changes in the treatment after infection with Covid-19 are related to the amount of cytokines in the blood serum of patients, including the level of IL-6.

Method: Patients were divided into groups according to the clinical forms of the disease. 16(35.6%) patients with PD of group 1 had akinetic-rigid form, 14(31.1%) patients with tremor form and 15 (33.3%) patients with mixed form of the disease consisted of patients. The amount of IL-6 was checked using the IFA method.

Results: In patients with akinetic-rigid form of PD, the amount of IL-6 in blood serum was 24.7±6.2 pg/ml, 18.6±4.3 pg/ml in shivering form, and 19.6±6.2 pg/ml in mixed form. it turned out to be ml. The result of the comparison is that there was no reliable difference between the tremor and the mixed form of the disease, r≥0.05. When patients without covid-19 were compared according to the clinical forms of the disease, 15.3±4.8 pg/ml in the akinetic-rigid form of the disease, 12.5±6.1 pg/ml in the tremulous form of the disease, and 10.1±4,4 in the mixed form of the disease. Compared with the akinetic form, a relatively reliable difference was shown in the patients of the main group 1, r≤0.001.

Conclusion: The akinetic-rigid form of the disease is more severe than the tremor form, and it is associated with a high level of dopamine deficiency. Therefore, when patients with PD are infected with Covid-19, the symptoms of the disease become more severe, and the akinetic-rigid form is stronger than the tremor forms.
