Meeting: 2023 International Congress

Abstract Number: 455

Keywords: Non-motor Scales, Parkinson’s, Parkinsonism

Category: Parkinson's Disease: Non-Motor Symptoms

Objective: Comparative analysis of vegetative disorders (VD)  in Parkinson’s disease and vascular parkinsonism.

Background: Vegetative disorders (VD) are one of the most common nonmotor disorders of parkinsonism. Parkinson’s disease (PD) and vascular parkinsonism (VP) have distinct motor and nonmotor impairments

Method: 40 patients with PD (20 men and 20 women) and 38 patients with VP (19 men and 19 women) were enrolled for the study. The mean age of patients was 35-73 for PD, 54.0±4.6 years, and 46-82 for VP, 64.0±6.6 years. Duration of the disease is 4-9 years for PD, average 6.5±2.8 years, 5-9 years for VP, average 7.0±3.8 years. The control group consisted of 20 age- and sex-matched nonparkinsonian patients. The degree of vegetative disorders Wayne A.M. and Levin Ya.I. was assessed with a scale.

Results: The results of the investigation show that 29 patients with PD (72.5%) and 31 patients with VP (81.5%) had various degrees of VD. 17 of 29 patients with PD and VD were observed (58.6%) had a low level of VD, 8.6±4.4 points. 8 patients (27.6%) had moderate VD, 18.7±5.4 points, and 4 patients (13.8%) had high-level VD, 29.5±6.2 points. 9 patients (29.0%) with VP had a low level, 8.8±3.4 points, 12 patients (38.7%) had an intermediate level, 23.5±4.3 points, and 10 patients (32 .3%) high-level VD were observed, 31.45±5.7 points..

Conclusion: Compared to Parkinson’s disease, vascular parkinsonism has more vegetative disorders and is characterized by a moderate to high level of autonomic disorders. In PD, low and moderate vegetative disorders prevail.
