Meeting: 2023 International Congress

Abstract Number: 1886

Keywords: Dystonic tremor, Pediatric neurotransmitter diseases, Rehabilitation

Category: Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy, Rehabilitation

Objective: To study quantification of  freezing of gait  (FOG) and falls of patients data in school going adolescent with pediatric movement disorders by wearable device (fire-boltt quantum watch), processes  and provides assistance based on pre-determined specifications in adolescent.

Background: A new wearable technology that constantly detects mobility patterns in children with hyperkinetic movement disorders, analyzes that data and transmits it to the cloud, is set to fuel a worldwide breakthrough for movement disorders’ researchers and physicians, as well as for wearers of the device.

Method: Forty six school going adolescent with pediatric movement disorders were taken as subject with an equal ratio of male and female and control group. Fire-boltt quantum watch were put on the wrist of adolescent for 30 days and a questionnaire was filled out by each participants. In all subjects, with day to day data of their monitoring of step count,  body mass index,  motion time, sleep monitoring (light and deep), calorie burnt and monitoring heart rate with SpO2 levels to know daily routines and recording them for health purpose. Fire-boltt quantum watch, automatically provides a cueing sound when FOG or falls of patients is detected and which stays until the subject resumes walking in adolescent with pediatric movement disorders.

Results: Fire-boltt quantum watch device data reading showed that there was a normal heart rate, more calorie burnt, improved body mass index with better control of SpO2 levels and average good sleep count in more physically workout, include walking in adolescent with pediatric movement  disorders compared to less physically workout patients, identified by professional physiotherapists. Date showed that after changing sedentary lifestyle, their FOG and fall events normalize with improve active lifestyle among school going adolescent compared to control group. Current data support the application of the Fire-boltt quantum watch to access FOG and falls among adolescent with pediatric movement  disorders and controls.

Conclusion: It can be conclude that quantification of  FOG and falls of patients data is possible by using Fire-boltt quantum watch device and motivate further studies on large population.
