Objective: To describe the patient recharge data and patterns across the first nine months subsequent to initial implant of Medtronic Percept RC B35300.

Background: On January 8, 2024 Medtronic received FDA approval for its Percept RC B35300. Following our first implantation on January 22 2024, we have implanted more than 16 individuals that are greater than 90 days out from their device activation. Here, we present the recharge data from those individuals comparing the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd three month epochs.

Method: We retrospectively examined recharge usage data from 16 implanted individuals (01/22/2024-11/11/2024), 8 of whom had recharge data spanning the full 9 months. Data from recharge sessions were aggregated into three month epochs, which were then compared for changes over time. The standard report variables of recharge interval, the duration of charging, and the quality of the recharge connection, among others were examined.

Results: A total of 274 recharge sessions from 86 visits from 16 implanted patients were examined. Averages and variances for each patient for each epoch for the report variables were aggregated. The average recharge interval for the 16 patients across the first 3 months was 5.72 days (min individual ave=3.83days, max individual ave=8.60 days). There was no difference between the 2nd and 3rd epochs for the 8 patients that spanned the full 9 months. However, the variance of the interval declined across the three epochs (1st=3.0, 2nd=2.51, 3rd=1.66) indicating that the recharge interval stabilized over time. The duration of charge was fairly constant across the three epochs (1st=29.20min, 2nd=31.97min, 3rd=36.33min), but with the variance decreasing over time again. The average recharge coupling quality for all three epochs remained between good(2) and excellent(3), leaning towards the latter (1st=2.65n, 2nd=2.88, 3rd=2.77).

Conclusion: The Medtronic Percept RC B35300 recharge usage data show that the recharge interval consistently approximated six days, and that the recharge duration per session approximated 30 minutes. Although average values of the examined variables did not change across time, the variance decreased indicating the emergence of stable habits. The data presented here continue to accumulate.
