Meeting: 2025 International Congress

Keywords: Bradykinesia, Parkinson’s

Category: Parkinson's Disease: Epidemiology, Phenomenology, Clinical Assessment, Rating Scales

Objective: To determine the spread of the disease by sex and age groups among the population of Uzbekistan.

Background: Parkinson’s disease is quite relevant throughout the world. With age, the prevalence of the disease is steadily increasing. According to the WHO forecast, the number of patients suffering from Parkinson’s disease will double by 2030.

Method: A generalized analysis of three categories of patients was carried out: patients who visited a neurologist in a polyclinic at the place of residence, dispensary patients and patients visited at home. Based on the results obtained, an approximate calculation of the percentage of morbidity among the population of the Republic of Uzbekistan was made.

Results: The total population served by the family polyclinic No. 8 in M. Ulugbek district of Tashkent is 69,519 people. Among them suffering from Parkinson’s disease – 37 people (0.05%). Of which: men – 9 people (24%), women – 28 people (76%). Patients under the age of 50 – 1 (0.001%), from 50 to 60 years – 5 (0.007%), from 60 to 70 years – 10 (0.01%), from 70 to 80 years – 12 (0.017%) , older than 80 years – 9 (0.01%).

Conclusion: Thus, the prevalence of Parkinson’s disease among the 69,519 population is 0.05%. With increasing age, the rates increase, and the disease among women prevails.                    Taking into account these data, we can conclude that the number of cases of the disease among the population of the Republic of Uzbekistan is 54 patients per 100,000 population.
