Early predictors of Parkinson’s disease and prognosis in relatives

R. Matmurodov, K.h Khalimova, E. Abduqodirov (Tashkent, Uzbekistan)

Meeting: MDS Virtual Congress 2020

Abstract Number: 493

Keywords: Neurogenesis, Parkinsonism, Premotor potentials

Category: Parkinson's Disease: Genetics

Objective: To study early clinical and biochemical markers of Parkinson’s disease (PD) in relatives of Uzbek nationality.

Background: Parkinson’s disease is a neurodegenerative hereditary disease of the nervous system and may have a family nature.

Method: The material in this study was 14 relatives. Of these, 2 have a definitive diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease. The rest are all relatives, similar in type to take and sister. Conducted clinical and neurological, investigative-genealogical and biochemical studies. Determines the content of S100B in the blood serum by enzyme immunoassay performed with specific test systems developed on the basis of appropriate monoclonal antibodies on the analyzer Hospitex Diagnostics.

Results: We studied in detail family cases of PD, which do not have all the clinical manifestations. In 2 patients of which PD, the mixed form of the activity of the neuron specific protein S100B in blood plasma had 172.9 ng/l. In 4 relatives who experienced hyposmia, cognitive impairment and mild hypokinesia, this protein in the blood plasma had 212.1 ng/l and UPDRS of 36.5 points. 4 relatives of whom there are no early signs of 92.4-98.2 ng/l. In 4 relatives of which cognitive impairment, sleep disturbance, rest tremor, vegetative impairment and UPDRS 36.5 points the protein S100B amounted 102,1 ng/l. All relatives did not have any concomitant diseases and MRI pathology.

Conclusion: According to the data of this study, it can be concluded that non-motor manifestations can be predictors of Parkinson’s disease, and studies of the level of a neuron of a specific protein gives information on the prognosis of the disease.
